Allen W. Eckert Trail
Allen W. Eckert (January 30, 1931 - July 7, 2011) was an American naturalist, novelist and playwright who specialized in historic novels. One of Eckert's most popular books is the "Frontiersman" a narrative history of the opening of Kentucky and the Northwest Territory from 1755 to 1836.
Located inside ETC Riverside Park, this two-mile walking trail was established in 2001 in honor of Eckert. The trail gives you a beautiful view of Raven Rock, the Ohio River and passes close by the former site of the village of Alexandria.
