Alexandria Point Park
Located at 110 Scioto Street in Portsmouth at the confluence of the Ohio and Scioto Rivers, this beautiful small park was established in 1938 as part of the Northwest Territory sesquicentennial. The park is dedicated to the lost village of Alexandria, the first American village in the area laid out in 1792 in what would become Scioto County. The constant threat of flooding forced the earlier settlers of Alexandria to abandon the village for higher ground. The last remnants of the village were washed away by the great flood of 1884.
