Old Mackletree Bridge Memorial
The original Mackletree Bridge was built in the 1930's by the Civil Conservation Corps (CCC). Under this federal work relief program, the CCC gave millions of young men employment during the Great Depression. The CCC planted more than three billion trees, constructed lakes, bridges, trails, and shelters in more than eight hundred parks across the nation.
